This policy explains what personal information Moravine collects when you visit moravine.com or place an order, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Moravine is a made-to-order online store run by Precious Thundu that ships to US addresses. Questions? Email [email protected].
What we collect
- Order details: your name, email, phone number, shipping and billing addresses, the items you buy, and order notes. We need these to make, ship and support your order.
- Account details: if you create an account, your name, email, password (stored encrypted) and saved addresses, plus your order history.
- Messages: anything you send us by email, such as your name, email address and what you write.
- Newsletter signups: the email address you enter in our signup form, and when you signed up. We only email you if you ask to hear from us, and every email lets you unsubscribe.
- Technical data: like any website, our servers and security providers receive your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. These are used to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
We do not collect payment card numbers. Card and PayPal details are entered with PayPal and never reach our site.
Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of cookies that the store needs to work: cookies that keep your cart, keep you signed in, and remember that you are logged in during checkout. WooCommerce also sets order attribution cookies (sbjs_*) that record how you arrived at the site, such as a search engine or a link, so we can see which channels lead to orders. That information is stored with your order and is not used for advertising. Cloudflare may set a security cookie to tell real visitors from bots.
We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or third-party ad tracking. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the cart and checkout will not work without the essential ones.
How we use your information
- To process, make, ship and support your order, including returns and refunds.
- To run your account if you have one.
- To answer your messages.
- To send our newsletter if you signed up.
- To prevent fraud, keep the site secure and meet legal, tax and accounting duties.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Our store software (WooCommerce)
The store runs on WordPress and WooCommerce. WooCommerce stores your orders, account and cart data in our own site database. It handles checkout, order emails and customer accounts.
Who we share it with
We share only what each service needs to do its job:
- PayPal processes payments, including card payments made through PayPal. PayPal receives your payment details, billing information and order total, and handles them under the PayPal Privacy Statement.
- Our print partners make and ship your order. They receive your name, shipping address, the items ordered and, where needed for delivery, your email or phone number. They pass your shipping details to carriers such as USPS, UPS or FedEx so your parcel can be delivered. They handle this data only to make and deliver your order.
- Railway hosts our website and database, so the data above is stored on its servers.
- Cloudflare provides our content delivery network, security and bot protection, and forwards email sent to our @moravine.com addresses. It processes your IP address and request data, and the content of emails you send us.
- Our email provider delivers order emails and messages we send, and receives your email address and the message content.
- Authorities or advisers, if the law requires it or to protect our rights, our customers or others.
Some of these providers process data outside your state or country, including in the United States.
We send transactional emails about your order, such as confirmations, shipping updates and replies to your messages. These are part of the service and are sent whether or not you join the newsletter. Marketing emails are only sent to people who opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the email or by writing to us.
How long we keep it
- Orders: kept for as long as needed for tax, accounting and legal requirements, usually up to 7 years.
- Accounts: kept until you ask us to delete your account.
- Newsletter: kept until you unsubscribe.
- Messages: kept as long as needed to help you, and then for a reasonable period for our records.
- Server and security logs: kept for a short period, as set by our hosting and security providers.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct information that is wrong;
- delete your information, unless we have to keep it, for example for tax records;
- stop sending you marketing emails.
US state privacy rights. Residents of California and other states with privacy laws (such as Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and others) have rights to know, access, correct and delete their personal information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and targeted advertising. We do not sell or share personal information for those purposes. We will not treat you differently for using your rights. You can use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof that they act for you.
Visitors from the EU, EEA and UK. Our store ships to US addresses only, but if you visit from these regions you also have rights under the GDPR, including the right to object to or restrict processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. We rely on contract (to fulfil your order), legal obligation (tax records), consent (newsletter) and legitimate interests (site security and improving the store). You can complain to your local data protection authority.
To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will confirm your identity, usually by checking it against the email on your order or account, and reply within 30 days (or 45 days where US state law allows). If we say no, you can appeal by replying to our answer.
Children
Our store is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.
Security
Our site uses HTTPS encryption, Cloudflare security protection, limits on login attempts, and access to the admin area only for those who need it. Payments are handled by PayPal. No method of sending or storing data online is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects you where the law requires it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our store or the law changes. We will post the new version on this page with a new “Last updated” date. If a change is significant, we will make it clear on the site or email customers where appropriate.
